Coupla cuickies (Qupla quickies? Coppolla Kwik-eze?)

1. Philippe "not surfing at the office" Eidman continues to dig up the most extraordinary links and send them my way, gawd bless 'im. Here's the latest -

"They Rule is a launchpad for investigating corporate power relationships in the United States. The website allows users to browse through a variety of maps that function as directories to companies such as Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Microsoft. They Rule depicts the connections between companies through diagrams of their power structures, specifically their boards of directors. The minimalist symbolism of these diagrams--CEOs are represented as an iconic male or female holding a briefcase--highlights connections and gives the ruling power elite a kind of uniformity. The directors’ weight increases proportional to the number of boards they sit on."

Fascinating stuff and beautifully executed. Some entertaining side games to be had from this site - mapping the degrees of separation between, say, Enron and Worldcom.

2. New inbound links showing up, thanks to a reference posted here. Sadly, no email address or other info on the site, but thanks for the pointer anyway, my anonymous friend. Oh - I'm not in the UK, btw (and it's an "I", not a "1" - spoils the palindrome). But thanks anyway - always good to get new traffic.
