Slán leat, Meg
After too long absent, I'm drawn back to the blog by the terribly sad news of the death of a good friend who I first met in the comments section here. Chris Locke told me this morning that Michelle Goodrich, aka Mandarin Meg died over the weekend.
Meg was both a technically proficient web maven and a generous, warm person who touched many, many lives. Her hints and tips on good CSS use and blog design were essential reading for many of us over the last few years - especially in the early days, when bad template experiments were all the rage. And I'll never forget her patient, quietly-confident guidance as she steered me through the time I horribly screwed up my new template.
We never got to meet in person, which I regret, but I've felt her reassuring, encouraging presence in the comments here often, and followed her gentle footsteps through the comments on other friends' blogs.
We'll miss you, Meg. I'm so sorry.
